COVID 19 Affects the way a local business operates with 65+ populations.

Jon Kelderman of 665 Madrone Lane is a Local agent with American Republic Insurance.

Jon said, “traditionally we prefer face to face interactions.” “Our customers appreciate that we are local and let's face it if you're turning 65+ you are probably getting bombarded with calls from all over the country. Who are you going to trust? the guy who lives next door or the guy from a call center in Houston.”

Traditionally American Republic Agents would have live seminars in small venues like schools, churches and libraries and in Jon’s case the Waukee Community Center.

“The seminars cover just the basics of Medicare, by federal law we are not allowed to sell. It’s really satisfying to share your knowledge about something you’ve spent so much time learning and the best part is people really appreciate the help. We hope to eventually get back to face to face but int the meantime Zoom is a great tool and really easy for our audience to use”, says Jon.
