Flag Football registration is currently underway at the .

Teams will begin game play on Sunday, Sept. 9, and run through the end of October. The 1st and 2nd grade teams will play Sunday afternoons with the 3rd through 6th gradeteams playing Saturday mornings, all at the Waukee High School practice fields. Due to the Iowa-Iowa State football game, the first games for the 3rd through 6th grade teams will be Sunday, Sept. 9.

In YMCA Flag Football, everybody plays with guarantee equal playing time and opportunities to play different positions. Teams are coached by parent volunteers.

Y-Rookies (preschool 3-4 year olds and Kindergarten students) will have a six-week clinic on Sunday afternoons at the Waukee High School practice fields. The preschool clinic will be held at 1 p.m., with the Kindergarten clinic at 2 p.m. The clinic emphasizes fundamental football skills, learning rules, and gaining social skills in a positive atmosphere.

Registration for Y-Rookies is $35 for Y members and $70 for non-members. The fee for 1st through 6th grade participants is $60 for members and $120 for non-members. All participants are required to have an All-Sports jersey.
