New Historic Area Bike Ride Planned In Waukee

The adults-only bike ride and poker run through Waukee, Adel and Redfield will raise money for the Waukee Area Historical Society.

WAUKEE, IA — A new spring bicycle ride through Dallas County, planned for adults only, was designed to incorporate fitness and local history with a fun leisure event. The inaugural ride will be May 5.

The Dallas County Historical Bike Ride will seven stops and will take riders to the Dallas County Courthouse, two museums, area restaurants and other sites through Waukee, Adel and Redfield. It was organized by the Waukee Area Historical Society.

Historian Rod Stanley will be available with historical information at the courthouse, Redfield Depot and Harvey's Pub and Diner. Other stops include the Adel and Redfield museums, Grand Army of the Republic building and Brickyard Burgers and Pub.

The ride will include a poker run and raffles, with proceeds benefiting the historical society.

Pre-registration begins April 4 online at waukeehistory.org. The cost is $35 in advance and $45 the day of the event.
