Police Blotter Rewind: Criminal Mischief, Burglary, Theft and Possession

Missed something from last week's police blotter? Here are the reports again from the week ending Nov. 4.

Criminal Mischief

On Oct. 29, a Waukee man reported criminal mischief to a mailbox in the 100 block of Kaylin Drive. The mailbox was found damaged. No cause was determined. Damage was estimated at $70.

Also on Oct. 29, a Waukee woman reported criminal mischief to a vehicle in the 500 block of Southeast University.

The vehicle was found to have been scraped in the parking lot of Waukee High School. Total damage was estimated at $400.

On Nov. 4, another report of criminal mischief to a vehicle was reported in the 10 block of Northeast Sunrise Drive. A mirror was broken while the vehicle was parked on the street. Damage was estimated at $200.

Theft

On Oct. 29, a Waukee woman reported the theft of an Apple iPod in the 900 block of Warrior Lane. The item was taken from Waukee Middle School. The iPod was valued at $300. It has not been recovered.

Then, on Oct. 30, a Clive woman reported the theft of a backpack in the 500 block of Southeast University Avenue. The backpack was taken from a classroom at Waukee High School. The item was valued at $70.

On Oct. 31, a Waukee woman reported the theft of DVDs in the 1000 block of Southeast Mapleleaf Lane. The items were reportedly delivered to the residence by UPS. The value of the DVDs was estimated at $40.

Accidents

Oct. 31

A vehicle driven by Benjamin Duea of Urbandale was struck by a vehicle driven by Carson Colletier of Urbandale. Vehicle damage was estimated at $950.

Nov. 3

A vehicle driven by Dilnoza Harpster of Perry struck a deer near the intersection of Hickman and Alice's Roads. Vehicle damage was estimated at $2,000.

Burglary

Waukee police responded to two burglaries last week, both to construction sites in the same Waukee neighborhood.

Early on Oct. 29, a male working on a construction site reported wire missing from residence under construction in the 1200 block of Southeast University Avenue.

Later that morning, a second male reported a similar loss also in the 1200 block of Southeast University Avenue.

There was no damage to either site. Total loss from both properties was estimated at $825.

Possession of a Controlled Substance

On Oct. 29, Waukee police arrested and charged a 17 year-old male from Waukee with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The juvenile was arrested in the 900 block of First Street. His case was referred to juvenile court. No additional information was released.
