Police Blotter Rewind: Assault, Theft, and Criminal Mischief

Missed something from last week's police blotter? Here are the reports again from the week ending Nov. 12.

Simple Assault

A Van Meter man was arrested last week for his participation in a fight outside a Waukee bar.

Timothy Hughes, 39, was arrested in the 400 block of Sixth Street around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.

Hughes had allegedly assaulted another person outside Chop's Old Bank on the downtown Triangle. No injuries were reported by Hughes or the victim.

Hughes was charged with simple assault and booked into Dallas County Jail.

Criminal Mischief

Nov. 7

A sign post was reportedly damaged at the Waukee Auto Spa at 1535 S.E. Blackthorn Dr. Damage was estimated at $70.

Nov. 10

Criminal mischief was reported to a residence in the 300 block of Southeast Cardinal Lane. Something was thrown at the house causing damage to the siding. Damage was estimated at $100.

Nov. 11

Deborah Sandoval of Des Moines was arrested in the 1300 block of LA Grant Parkway for allegedly breaking a window at a residence in the 800 block of Celtic Drive.

Sandoval was later released from custody. Damage to the window was estimated at $100.

Public Intoxication

Megan Gatliff, 26, of Clive was arrested and charged with public intoxication in the 200 block of Hickman Road.

Nov. 7

Lee Ohnemus, 27, of Waukee was arrested and charged with public intoxication at the intersection of Sixth and Walnut Streets.

Nov. 11

Adan Salcido, 37, of Waukee was arrested and charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct in the 400 block of Southeast Alice's Road.

Theft

On Nov. 8, an iPhone was allegedly taken from Waukee High School. It was valued at $200. The phone was not recovered.

Then, on Nov. 9, a bicycle was reported stolen from a home in the 100 block of Windfield Parkway. Value of the bicycle was estimated at $160.

Accidents and a Suspended Driver

Nov. 5

Donald Duong of Waukee was arrested and charged with driving while suspended. He was also cited for no proof of insurance.

Nov. 8

A vehicle driven by Benjamin Frein of Urbandale was struck by a vehicle driven by Cody Hinkle of Marshalltown. Vehicle damage was estimated at $4,000.

Nov. 10

A vehicle driven by Charity Coleman of Waukee was backing out of a car wash and struck a pole. Vehicle damage was estimated at $1,000. Property damage was estimated at $2,000.

Nov. 12

A vehicle driven by Bobbie Adair of Waukee struck a vehicle driven by Miranda Conner of Urbandale when a third vehicle driven by Megan Demouth of Urbandale struck Conner's. Vehicle damage was estimated at $12,000.
