Police: Teens Arrested for Setting Trash Can on Fire
Two teenagers were arrested and charged last week with third degree arson after setting fire to a garbage can.

Two teenagers outed themselves via social media last week after setting a trash can on fire at a Waukee park.
Just after 10 p.m. on Aug. 18, the was dispatched to a garbage can fire at Ridge Pointe Park, 655 S.E. Legacy Pointe Blvd. Firefighters put out the fire that caused approximately $50 in damages. No one was there at the time of the fire.Â

Later, the two juveniles reportedly posted something via Twitter about their involvement in the fire. One of their followers on the popular social media site turned the two in to Waukee Police.
A 15 year-old male from Perry and a 14 year-old male from Waukee were arrested and charged with third degree arson for setting fire in a garbage can. They were released into the custody of their parents. Both cases have been referred to juvenile court.
