Residents show off their Cinco de Mayo knowledge
Residents at The Village at Legacy Pointe retirement community celebrated Mexican-American culture through trivia, food and drinks.

Residents at The Village at Legacy Pointe in Waukee celebrated Mexican-American culture through trivia, food and drinks during their Cinco de Mayo party.
Chicken enchiladas, homemade chips and salsa, fajita meatballs, and made-to-order quesadillas were on the menu and homemade margaritas were enjoyed, but the real fun was in the Cinco de Mayo trivia game. Teams of residents competed to see which would reign supreme in Cinco de Mayo-related knowledge. “It got pretty competitive and was a blast,” said Mary Tapps, Community Life Director at The Village at Legacy Pointe. Elaine Kjar, a resident for more than five years, agreed, “I love these parties!”
More than 60 people attended the party. “At the community, we like to celebrate culture, continue to learn and have fun while doing it,” said Amy Barth, Executive Director at The Village of Legacy Pointe.
