Vision Soccer Academy Spring Registration Quickly Approaching

2018-2019 11U-19U Recreational

The 11U through 19U Recreational Program is a team/league based program for players born between January 1st, 1999 and Dec 31st, 2008.

Registration Fees: $105 - before the registration deadline Jan 20th; $130 - after registration deadline of Jan 20th

Spring Dates:
March 25: Practices can start depending on weather
April 6/7: First weekend of games
April 20/21: No Games Easter Weekend
May 25/26: Memorial Day Weekend
June 8/9: Last weekend for rescheduled games

Game Times (these are general and are up to the league as they schedule):
11U - 12U: Primary Sunday afternoons starting at 1pm (possible Saturday overflow)
13U - 14U: Primary Saturday afternoons (possible Sunday afternoon overflow)
15U and older: Primary Sunday afternoons starting at 1pm (possible Saturday overflow)

These times and days are determined by ISA who schedules the league and could change.

Practice Times:
Practices are held 1 to 2 times a week and are scheduled by the volunteer coach. Days and times are determined by the volunteer coach.

Description: Volunteer coaches conduct practices once to twice a week at a local green space with their team and then games are played on the weekends (7 games total). Players will also receive 2 practice per season coached by the VSA Recreational Staff and are eligible for other recreational clinics/events.

For 11U and up teams, we do our best to maintain whole age groups or even 2 year age groups. Depending on the numbers sometimes we combine age groups to create teams. In the ISA Central Level 3 League we can also register small sided teams where 13U and up teams can play 6 v 6. The number of players on a roster and the way they are grouped is all dependent on the number of players that register in each age group.

2018-2019 9U-10U Academy

The 9U/10U Academy Program is a team/league based program for players born between Jan 1st, 2009 and Dec 31st, 2010.

Registration Fees: $275 - through Jan 20th $300 - after Jan 20th

Practice Times: Academy Players train twice a week at the VSA complex - normally on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Game Times: Academy teams mostly play league games on Saturdays with a few Sundays. They play teams in the Des Moines area and surrounding communities for away games.

The Central Iowa Festival is included in your fees. All other festivals/tournaments are optional and invoiced out separately. Festivals and Tournament may have games on Saturdays, Sundays, or both days.

Description: Players will train twice a week with team and staff coaches under a season long curriculum that is age specific. Coaches in the Academy Program have (or are in the process of obtaining) a minimum of an USSF E Coaching License or a USSF Grassroots 7v7 License. Many of VSA's Academy Coaches have a higher level license. Players are placed on balance teams to compete against other club's academy teams. Rosters change every season but the age group will always train together. The Academy Program is training focused with the development of the individual player in mind. There are no tryouts for the Academy Program.

The 7U/8U Recreational Program is a team/league based program for players born between Jan 1st, 2011 and Dec 31st, 2012.

Registration Fees: $99 - through Feb 17th; $124 - after Feb 17th. Team formation process will occur shortly after Feb 17th and then only limited registration spots will be available.

Game Times: Games are usually held on Saturdays between 11:30am and 4:30pm, some Thursday night games are occasionally scheduled.

Spring Dates (tentative as of 11/28):
First Weekend of Games April 6
Last week of Games June 1st
Reschedules will finish up by June 8/9
No games Easter Weekend or Memorial Day Weekend

Description: Volunteer coaches conduct practice once a week at a local green space with their team and then games are played on Saturdays (7 games total) in Waukee, Adel, and Grimes. Every 7U/8U team will have a partner team in which they will conduct practices with and can utilize for guest players for games. Players will also receive 2 practices per season coached by VSA Staff and are eligible for other recreational clinics/events.

We roster players based off the school they attend which include but are not limited to Brookview, Des Moines Christian, Eason, Grant Regan, Maple Grove, Shuler, St. Francis, Walnut Hills,Waukee, and Woodland Hills. There is a max roster size of 6 players per team.

Registration Fees: $79 through Feb 17th; $104 after Feb 17th. Team formation process will occur shortly after Feb 17th and then only limited registration spots will be available.

Practice/Game Times: 5U (kids born in 2014) - 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m. on Saturdays 6U (kids born in 2013) - 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. on Saturdays

Description: The first half of each session is devoted to age-appropriate soccer activities (practice), the second half is dedicated to playing a game. The volunteer coaches are briefed on the activities they conduct with their teams prior to each session. Players go directly to their assigned fields and meet with their coach to practice the activities. Once the 20 minutes of practice concludes, the players will participate in a game.
