During that time, library patrons may vote for their favorites, with a winner to be named on Dec. 20. Each vote costs $1 and all proceeds go toward the purchase of new books, CDs and DVDs for the Library.
There will be a tree-lighting ceremony at 6:30 p.m., with refreshments and a holiday-themed Pajama Time Story to follow at 6:45 p.m.

To donate a tree or wreath, participants are asked to complete the attached PDF (at right) with a check by Nov. 26.
Holiday decorations could follow a theme or particular decor and groups and singles are encouraged to participate.
Once you've decorated your tree or wreath, drop it off at the Waukee Public Library between Nov. 26 and Dec. 6
Those who donate a tree or wreath will be listed on the Waukee Library website, as a thank you. All funds from the purchase of trees and voting costs are tax free contributions to the Waukee Public Library Foundation, a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization, and will be used to benefit the library book fund.
Too busy to decorate? There are other ways you can show your support for the Library:
1. Bid on an item from the Teen Advisory Board’s silent auction the night of the tree lighting ceremony. Those with the highest bid can take their items home that night.
2. Honor your favorite pet(s). Attach a photo (or cut«out) to a foam ornament shape (provided) and hang it on a special tree to honor or remember your pet for a $5 donation. If you dedicate an ornament on behalf of a friend’s pet, bring the owner’s name and address with you so we can notify and thank them.
3. Buy a book the library needs by donating the purchase price to the library. Write your choice on an ornament and help decorate the book tree.
For more information, attendees and participants are encouraged to check out the Waukee Public Library's website.
Following the Festival of Trees Thursday, Dec. 6, the celebration continues Friday, Dec. 7 with the arrival of Santa Claus at Waukee Winter Fest on the downtown Triangle. Further details will become available closer to the date.
