Waukee Realtor Selected as Finalist for Magazine’s 30 Under 30 Award

Waukee Realtor Cy Phillips has been selected as one of the 50 nationwide finalists for REALTOR® magazine’s 2013 class of 30 Under 30.

Phillips lives in Waukee with his wife and son. He is an active member of the community, serving on the Waukee Economic Development and Waukee Leadership Institute Boards, in addition to numerous other community involvement activities. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Communication Studies and received a Certificate in Entrepreneurial Management. He played football for the Hawkeyes from 2002-2006.

Phillips earned his residential real estate license in July 2007, according to the news release. In 2008, he was awarded the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors "Rookie of the Year" award based on sales volume. He has earned Remax 100% Club honors every year since 2007 and was named to the Platinum Club in 2012. In 2010, he was a finalist for the National Association of Realtors "30 Under 30" award.

The list recognizes 30 rising stars in the real estate industry, selecting them based on business success, community and professional leadership, diversity in business through niches, gender, ethnic background and geographic location, as well as interesting business strategies or obstacles they have overcome.

Judges will select the final 30 based on criteria that includes business success, innovation, leadership, and community involvement. However, for the first time this year, Web Choice voting will be factored in. The finalist who collects the most votes out of the 50 candidates will not only be featured in a short online article as Web Choice Award winner, but will be included as part of the 2013 class of 30 Under 30.

Online voting began Friday and ends at noon CST Friday, March 29, at realtormag.realtor.org.
