Waukee's Jake Knott Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week
Waukee alumni and Iowa State University senior Jake Knott was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

The headline should really read, "Local Boy Does Good."
Waukee native and Iowa State linebacker Jake Knott has been named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week. It is the second time Knott has won the award. He also picked it up during the 2010 football season.
The honor comes on the heels of Knott's interception heard 'round Iowa Saturday as he helped the Cyclones to a 9-6 win over the Iowa Hawkeyes. That interception of a Hawkeye pass with just 1:11 left in the game cemented his place as the Big 12 player of the week. Knott finished Saturday's game with six tackles.
Knott, a 2009 graduate of , is a senior management major at Iowa State University. Knott is the son of Laura and Tim Knott.Â
