'I’m Super Excited' Says Teacher as Woodland Hills Elementary Preps to Open (PHOTOS)
Woodland Hills Elementary School, located at 1120 South 95th Street, West Des Moines, is the Waukee school district's seventh elementary school.
Woodland Hills Elementary School in West Des Moines is the newest addition to the Waukee Community School District, as the seventh elementary school and will be open Wednesday for 445 students.
Woodland Hills Elementary School has a similar layout to Maple Grove Elementary and Brookeview Elementary.
The new school includes 38 classrooms, an art room, two computer labs with the newest edition of Mac computers, two music classrooms, a media center, a gym, a full service kitchen and a cafeteria.

The hallways are colorful, include carpet and each grade is in a section. The hallways are open and wide so if classes want to do projects together they have a large meeting place.
Sara Rumpth will be teaching third grade at Woodland Hills, located at 1120 S. 95th St. in West Des Moines.

“I’m super excited,” Rumpth said.
Rumpth taught at Waukee Elementary School as a second-grade teacher when it opened.
“I’ve done it before and I’m doing it again,” Rumpth said.
