Are the Iowa State Cyclones Bowl Game Bound? Also, This Year's BCS Bowl Games

How about a little Blues to celebrate the New Year?

If you're an Iowa State Cyclone fan your New Years plans may very well include a little Blues in Memphis.

The Cyclones were invited to face Tulsa in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 31 in Memphis.

This isn't the first meeting between the two schools this season.

Iowa State opened the season against Tulsa on Sept. 1 in Ames. The Cyclones were victorious that day winning, 38-23.

Iowa State closed the regular season on Nov. 23 with a 24-31 loss to West Virginia. The Cyclones closed the season with a 6-6 record.

Tulsa finished the regular season with a 10-3 record and the Conference USA Championship.

The invitation marks the Cyclones third bowl game in four year.

The Cyclones are 3-8 in Bowl Game appearances since 1971.

Last year, the Cyclones fell to Rutgers, 27-13 in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Not a Cyclone fan? Well you won't find much more opportunity for college football in Iowa.
