DART to offer free rides to caucus sites on February 3

Free rides after 4 p.m. on DART Fixed Routes and free rides to and from Caucus sites on Paratransit

The Iowa Democratic Party and the Republican Party of Iowa are partnering with the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) to ensure central Iowans can get to their Caucus site on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. As a result of the partnership, DART will provide free rides after 4 p.m. on all Local, Express and On Call services, and free rides to and from Caucus sites for DART Paratransit riders. Both the Republican and Democratic Caucuses begin at 7 p.m. Free rides will be available beginning at 4 p.m. through the end of DART’s service day.

Currently eligible Paratransit riders need to schedule their ride in advance. Reservations can be made:

  • Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. by calling DART Customer Service at 515-283-8136.
  • Saturday and Sunday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. by calling 515-283-8147 and leaving a voicemail message with the client name, contact number, and trip details.
