In the Dallas County portion of West Des Moines, voters also will be deciding whether to implement a one-cent sales tax beginning in July 2018. The measure is on the ballot countywide and voters in contiguous communities — West Des Moines, Waukee, Urbandale and Clive — must approve the tax as a bloc for it to take effect in those communities.
