It's Hazardous; Get Rid of It Responsibly

A news release from the city of West Des Moines:

Beginning April 1, West Des Moines residents may take advantage of a new pilot program for ridding their homes of hazardous waste with convenient collection right at their door.

Sign Up – $25 Per Collection 
Residents can sign up on an as-needed basis at West Des Moines Public Works, 516 S. 16th St. For $25 fee per use, residents receive: 
• Up to two 12-gallon bins. 
• Handling instructions and list of accepted and not accepted items.

Schedule Collection With Metro Waste Authority 
Once you fill your bins, call Metro Waste Authority at (515) 333.4434 to 
schedule collection. Bins are collected the second Friday of each 
month.

This program is available to West Des Moines residents who are eligible for Curb It! recycling and townhome residents with private driveways. Waste must be generated from a household (not a business).
