Overnight Road Closures Scheduled Next Week for Railroad Repairs In West Des Moines

Repair work on 50th Street, 60th Street and Jordan Creek Parkway next week in West Des Moines should be completed by morning commute times.

WEST DES MOINES, IA — City crews will repair railroad crossing approaches on some major roadways next week in West Des Moines if the weather allows. The resurfacing projects will be done overnights and will require street closures lasting from approximately 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The affected areas are 50th Street, 60th Street and Jordan Creek Parkway. Electronic message boards on each street will display the project date to aid drivers in planning ahead.

Residents in the area can expect to hear noise with the milling part of the project and it should last only a couple of hours. Trucks unloading asphalt material and the asphalt paving machine also will generate some noise, a city news release states.
