Step Into Swing to sponsor children's swing dance classes in July

It’s never too early to introduce your kids to the wonders and magic of swing dance!

Introduce them to the Lindy Hop, the Charleston, jitterbug, the Shag and so many other steps which comprise swing dancing over the course of four Saturday afternoons at the Des Moines Ballroom, 2745 Douglas Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, in July.

Two classes will be offered. The first class, meeting from 1 to 2 p.m. will be for ages four to seven. The second class, meeting from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., will be for kids ages eight to thirteen years old. The classes will meet on July 1, 8, 22 and 29.

The cost will be $40.00 for all four weeks per student from the same family, or $12.00 per lesson for the first two students from a family. All subsequent students enrolled from the same family will be charged half price. Tuition can be paid on the first day of classes.

Parents/guardians should provide her with the child’s full name, age, emergency contact name, phone number and e-mail address (where appropriate) along with any pertinent information or comments regarding their child.

The Des Moines Ballroom is on the north side of Des Moines. To get there from downtown Des Moines, take the M. L. King Parkway north to Euclid Avenue. Turn left on Euclid, which becomes Douglas Avenue Go beyond the Plaza Lanes. The Des Moines Ballroom is on the north side of Douglas Avenue, beyond Plaza Lanes.
