Three Running Unopposed for West Des Moines School Board
One of the first tasks for the new school board will be to begin a search for a new superintendent to replace Peter Ansingh.
Three candidates have filed for three open seats on the West Des Moines school board, including one incumbent.
Candidates are Elizabeth Brennan, 48, of West Des Moines, the current school board president; former Valley High School principal Vicky Poole, 67, of Clive; and Tali Greenspon, 50, of West Des Moines.
After the elections, one of the first important tasks of the board will be to select a new superintendent. Former Superintendent Peter Ansignh was fired in May after board members cited differences of opinion.

Brennan is seeking her second term. School board members Jill Hansen and Mark Lagomarcino are not seeking re-election.
