West Des Moines Man Awaits Sentencing On Lascivious Acts With A Child
A West Des Moines man pleaded guilty to a felony charge of lascivious acts with a child stemming from an incident reported in Perry in May.

WEST DES MOINES, IA. -- A West Des Moines man remains in Dallas County Jail awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to lascivious acts with a child under an agreement with Dallas County prosecutors. Jesse Donavon Taggart, 22, originally had faced a felony charge of second-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure and dissemination of obscene material to a minor.
Taggart agreed to plead guilty last week to reduce the charges to the single felony count of lascivious acts in connection with an incident reported in Perry on May 31.
The Perry Police Department investigated the case and court records show their investigation found Taggart had committed a sex act with a female under the age of 12, exposed himself to her and showed her obscene material, a story by the Raccoon Valley News indicates.
