The West Des Moines Police Department is partnering with the DEA to participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 24th from 10:00AM to 2:00PM.  Through this program, old, unneeded medication can be disposed of safely and easily.  This program allows anyone to remove old medication from their home, preventing abuse, unintended use, and avoids these medications from contaminating the landfills or water supplies.  Simply bring your items to the West Des Moines Police Department and an officer will accept them and ensure they are disposed up safely, privately, and legally.   This has been a highly successful, efficient program and we look forward to serving the needs of our citizens.
