What Will it Cost to Register West Des Moines Students?
Basic registration fees are $50, $60 and $80 for elementary, middle school and high school students, respectively. But there are other costs, depending on students' activities.

School starts Aug. 20 for students in the West Des Moines Community School District.
Here’s a list of fees:
Half-day kindergarten: $25 per year

Driver education: $345
Musical instrument rental (strings/band): $65 per year or $33 per semester
Musical instrument rental (percussion): $50 per year or $25 per semester
Student activity ticket, grades 9-12 (optional): $55 per year
Insufficient check charges $30 (subject to current bank overdraft charges)

Free and reduced lunches are available to students whose families meet income eligibility  requirements.

Annual round trip (non-refundable): $470
Annual one-way trip: $245
Quarterly round trip pass: $118
