2 Kansas Deputies Killed In Shooting
The two deputies were transporting inmates to the court services building for a hearing when they were "overcome," officials said.

KANSAS CITY, KS — Two Wyandotte County sheriff's deputies were killed in a shooting as they transported inmates to the court services building in Kansas City, authorities said.
The shooting happened as the deputies pulled into the parking lot and were overcome, authorities said. Major Kelli Bailiff of the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Office said it was very possible that the deputies were shot with one of their own firearms.
Both the deputies and the suspect, who was also shot, were taken to the University of Kansas Medical Center. One of the deputies, identified as Patrick Rohrer, 35, died at the hospital, authorities announced Friday afternoon. The second deputy, identified as Theresa King, 44, died early Saturday morning.

King had 13 years of service and Rohrer had served for seven years.
The shooting remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the tips hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
