Blue Valley School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Blue Valley is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Blue Valley School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/10 - 8/15: Professional Learning
• 8/15: Grades 6 and 9 Orientation
• 8/16: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: Labor Day
• 9/22: Grades K-8 No School (Professional Learning)

October

• 10/11: High School Early Release (PSAT)
• 10/13: No School for Students (Half Day Professional Learning), End of First Quarter
• 10/26: Grades K-8 No School (Conferences)
• 10/27: No School for Students (Conferences)
• 10/30: No School for Students (Professional Learning)

November

• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/18 - 12/19: Grades 9-12 Half Day, Finals
• 12/20: Half Day for Students (Grade Prep), High School Finals, End of First Semester
• 12/21 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/2 - 1/3: No School for Students (Professional Learning)
• 1/4: School Resumes
