UnitedHealthcare is awarding a $30,000 grant to the Kansas Food Bank to support programs to meet the significantly increased community needs due to COVID-19.
“Our support of the Kansas Food Bank will help provide critical aid and resources to the communities in Kansas that need it the most,” Kevin Sparks, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Kansas.
UnitedHealth Group, the parent company of UnitedHealthcare, has provided more than $100 million across the country to fight COVID-19 and assist impacted communities by supporting vulnerable populations, protecting the health care workforce and advancing breakthrough innovations in testing and treatment. This includes $1 million in grants in 2020 to seven community-based organizations in Kansas to expand access to care and address the social determinants of health for uninsured individuals and underserved communities.
