Wichita Fire Department To Hold 2020 Fall Recruit Pinning Ceremony

The 10-week recruit academy included coronavirus safety requirements, hands-on training and classroom sessions.

Eleven Wichita Fire Department (WFD) fire recruits will graduate at 3 p.m. today, Thursday October 15. Due to COVID-19, WFD will restrict ceremony attendance, but will stream it live on the City of Wichita YouTube channel, youtube.com/cityofwichita455.

The 11 WFD recruits will be “pinned” with their badges in a pinning ceremony today at the Regional Training Center, 4746 E 31st St. S. The 10-week recruit academy included COVID-19 safety requirements, hands-on training and classroom sessions.

The new probationary firefighters have received their assignments and are ready to serve the City of Wichita.
