Vanderburgh Vaccinations Top 79,000; Ten Infections Added

Vanderburgh County residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 has topped 79,000.

Vaccinations continue to rise slowly in the county, with 182 added on the state’s Thursday dashboard – raising the local total to 79,053.

Back in April, local vaccination totals topped 1,800 a day.

The Indiana Department of Health added ten new COVID infections in Vanderburgh County on Thursday but no new fatalities in the area.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients dropped to just eleven in the 12-county region of southwest Indiana.

Across Indiana, the agency recorded four more deaths and 230 new infections.

The state’s confirmed death toll is approaching 13,400. Another 423 are considered “probable” COVID-related deaths.
