Thomas English KY on the Best Lakes in Kentucky for Wakeboarding

Thomas English Kentucky, discusses some of the best lakes for any activity but especially for wakeboarding in the Kentucky region.

The weather has finally warmed up in Kentucky, which means it is time to get outside to enjoy the beautiful state. One of the best ways to take advantage of the amazing weather is by spending time on the water at one of Kentucky’s large lakes. While there are dozens of great ways to enjoy the lake, none of them are more fun than wakeboarding. The simple activity is extremely fun and can be mastered in only one afternoon. These are the four best lakes in Kentucky for wakeboarding.

Kentucky Lake
The spacious Kentucky Lake is the 24th largest lake in the United States. It is also the biggest artificial lake east of the Mississippi River. The vast 250 square mile lake is the perfect place to go wakeboarding because there is so much open space. Smaller lakes can often get congested with too many boats, but that will never be a problem at Kentucky Lake.

Lake Barkley
Lake Barkley is another huge lake located on the Kentucky and Tennessee border. While Lake Barkley is roughly half the size of Kentucky Lake, it also sees a lot less traffic on the water. The fun does not have to spot when everyone is done on the water. There are several great monuments, attractions, and restaurants within walking distance of the lake.

Barren River Lake
Anyone looking to get away from the large crowds at the more popular lakes will absolutely love their time at Barren River Lake. Residents and visitors of Barren, Monroe, and Allen counties have easy access to this picturesque lake. A vast majority of the visitors at the lake are there for excellent fishing, but water sports are also allowed. With so many people fishing from the shore, traffic on the water is never too bad.

Taylorsville Lake
Taylorsville Lake in Spencer County is one of the most popular places in the state of Kentucky to go wakeboarding. Water sports are so popular that there is even a small slalom course for water skiers and wakeboarders. The only problem with Taylorsville Lake is that it can get extremely crowded on the weekends. Most of the crowd comes from residents of Louisville making the short drive to the lake.
