Air Quality Alert For June 27 & 28 For City Of Louisville

The alert level is unhealthy for sensitive groups/orange level.

June 27. 2020

The APCD is issuing an Air Quality Alert for particulate matter for Saturday (June 27) and Sunday (June 28) in Metropolitan Louisville. The alert level is unhealthy for sensitive groups/orange level. A dust cloud blowing across the Atlantic Ocean from the Sahara Desert in Africa has been impacting air quality in the southeastern U.S., and it is expected to reach Kentuckiana by this weekend. Although this is not a hazardous situation, sensitive populations such as senior citizens, children, and people with breathing ailments such as asthma and COPD should check the air pollution conditions before going outside Saturday and Sunday.
