Watch Pigs Loose On Louisville Highway After Tractor-trailer Overturns

Pigs that were hurt in the crash were put down and the others were killed at a processing plant, WAVE-TV reported.

LOUISVILLE, KY — A tractor-trailer transporting 150 pigs to a processing plant overturned on a Louisville highway and then burst into flames, media outlets reported.

The semi-truck overturned around 9:30 a.m. on the northbound Interstate 65 ramp to eastbound Interstate 64, WDRB-TV reported. The ramp was closed for much of the day, the station said.

Some pigs died in the accident, but several others wound up loose on the highway and walked around for a little while. Pigs that were hurt in the crash were put down, WAVE-TV reported, and the others were killed at a pork processing plant. Police told the station that speed didn't contribute to the crash.
