2 Soldiers Killed In Apache Crash On Fort Campbell

The crew was conducting routine training at the time of the crash.

FORT CAMPBELL, KY — Two soldiers were killed in an Apache helicopter crash while training on Fort Campbell in Kentucky, officials said.

The crash happened around 9:50 p.m. on Friday and officials say the crew was conducting routine training at the time.

Officials have not identified the soldiers but say they were part of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade.

No other injuries were reported.

“This is a day of sadness for Fort Campbell and the 101st Airborne,” Brig. Gen. Todd Royar, acting senior commander of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell, said in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Families during this difficult time.”

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
