BATON ROUGE, LA — A Louisiana couple recently got a small taste of a life of luxury after their bank mistakenly deposited $50 billion into their account, according to reports.

Darren James, a real estate agent from Baton Rouge, said he and his wife were checking their account when they noticed the error.

"That's not like a one zero error or a two zero error, that's somebody that fell asleep on the keyboard error," James told CNN. "I was excited for sure. Really surprised how it got there and wondered if I had a rich uncle that gave it to me."

After coming to terms with just how many zeros were at the end of that number, James eventually called Chase Bank to alert staff of the error.

“I wasn’t going to keep it. The thing that was most baffling was, we don’t even know where it came from. We don’t know anybody with that kind of money,” James told Fox 44.

While the James family enjoyed being multibillionaires for a grand total of four days, the bank eventually reversed the error.

If he ever does become a billionaire, James told Fox 44 he’d use the money to give back to others.

“There’s enough greatness in this world where we can all have a life we never thought was possible so if I did have $50 billion, I would bless others,” said James.

Shockingly, this isn’t the first time more than a million dollars has mistakenly been deposited into a Louisiana resident’s account. In April, a 911 dispatcher from Jefferson Parish had $1.2 million accidentally dropped into her account.

The difference? She spent some of it, and refused to give the rest back.

In fact, the woman was arrested and charged with theft valued over $25,000, bank fraud and illegal transmission of monetary funds. She was also fired from her job, NOLA.com reported.
