Ex-Baton Rouge Cop Saves Choking Infant
Officer Dustin Johnson found the infant turning blue, unable to breathe with an obstructed windpipe.

TUKWILA, WA - Tukwila officer Dustin Johnson wasn't even supposed to be at work on Halloween. But he came in to cover an open shift, and lucky for one 6-month-old infant that he did.
Johnson was called to a home off Tukwila International Boulevard on a report of an infant at who wasn't breathing. When Johnson arrived, he found the baby turning blue with its airway obstructed. Johnson cleared child's windpipe and began performing CPR.
Soon, the child began to breath and show signs of life. She was then taken to a local hospital for further treatment.

This isn't Johnson's first rescue mission. Before he arrived in Tukwila in May, he worked for 12 years as an officer in Baton Rouge. During that time he earned multiple commendations for life-saving efforts.
"He has continued that outstanding work and commitment to the community here with us and has been a standout officer and dedicated member of the Tukwila community since day one," the department wrote in a Facebook post about Johnson.
