Star & Crescent Foundation Opens 2020 Scholarship Applications

Louisiana State University students in financial need can now apply for scholarships from the Star & Crescent Foundation of Louisiana, which will award $150,000 in scholarships in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000 this fall. Eligible students may apply online at www.scfla.org by the deadline of May 15, 2020.

The scholarships are open to both full-time and part-time students who are registered and enrolled, or will be enrolled in any undergraduate, graduate or professional programs offered by Louisiana State University by fall 2020. The determining factors for awarding the scholarships are judged on academic excellence, extra curricular activities, leadership, and financial need. Scholarship applicants do not need to be a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity to qualify.

Established by alumni of LSU’s Gamma Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity in 2013, the Star & Crescent Foundation carries on the fraternity’s legacy and builds upon its core values of fellowship, leadership, scholarship and service.

Since 2013, the foundation has awarded over $350,000 in scholarship funds to over 300 students in financial need. Winners of the 2020 scholarship awards will be announced in August. The scholarship application and more information is available here.
