Maine Real Estate Market Improved In November

The Maine Association of Realtors says home prices in Piscataquis County rose more than 24 percent compared to quarterly sales.

AUGUSTA, ME — The Maine real estate market is looking up.

Sales of single-family existing homes increased 11.5 percent in November 2017, when compared to the same time last year, according to The Maine Association of Realtors.

According to an association report, 1,576 homes were sold in November. The association says median sale prices also increased 4.2 percent to $200,000.

The association says home prices in Piscataquis County rose more than 24 percent compared to quarterly sales. Knox County had the largest quarterly drop.

Maine Association of Realtors president Greg Gosselin says 2017 could break a record if sales are strong in December.
