Augusta School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Augusta is August 30 for grades 1-9, August 31 for all other students except pre-K, and September 5 for pre-K. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Augusta School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/30: First Day Grades 1-9
• 8/31: First Day All Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: First Day Pre-K

October

• 10/5: Early Release
• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/6: No School for Students (Workshop Day)

November

• 11/3: Early Release
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/22: No School for Students (Workshop Day, Teacher Comp.)
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/12: Early Release
• 12/22 - 1/2: No School (Vacation)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Vacation)
• 1/12: Early Release
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

February

• 2/16: Early Release
• 2/19: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/15: Early Release
• 3/16: No School for Students (Workshop Day)

April

• 4/13: No School for Students (Workshop Day, Teacher Comp.)
