Driver Clocked At 139 MPH In Maine On I-95: Police
Maine State Police said Sang Yook, of New Jersey, was clocked at 139 mph in a 70 mph zone on Interstate 95 in Sidney.
SIDNEY, ME — A New Jersey driver was recently arrested after he was clocked at 139 mph on Interstate 95 in Sidney, according to Maine State Police. Sang Yook, 64, was charged with criminal speeding. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 48 hours in jail and a $300 fine.

Police said on June 6, state police pilot Gregory Tirado spotted Yook's 2014 BMW Z4 traveling at a high rate of speed. Tirado clocked the vehicle at 139 mph, nearly double the 70 mph limit.

A state trooper pulled Yook over.
"He said he had been doing 75 (mph) when a vehicle came up behind him, 'right on his tail' ... so he accelerated," Maine State Police said in a statement. "Yook said he normally doesn’t speed. Yook got out of his car to ask for a break and refused to get back inside. He was arrested."

Yook was unable to post bail, police said, so he went to court the next day to plead guilty.
