Post and Promote Your Events on the Patch

Follow our simple guide for having your local events featured on the Patch and seen by thousands of readers.

Have an upcoming event you want to share with your community?

Want to have your event seen by thousands of engaged readers from your local town, but don't have a marketing budget?

We've got your back.

Meet MyPatch -- your new, improved way to post on Patch.

You can now post your great local event directly on the Patch events calendar. We have also created a new 'Promote you Event' feature. For a $20 fee (per Patch), you can promote your event. It will be included in the newsletter and prominently featured on the homepage for 7 days before the event occurs.

For a simple guide on how to post and promote your event, just follow the instructions below.


First things first: Apply for an account, if you already have one even better.

Why do we ask you to apply? We want to make sure your great, local content isn’t overwhelmed by non-local content — or worse, spam. So, we ask users to apply to make sure you're real, and real local. (Your Zendesk support account is not the same as a contributor account.)

You'll receive an email confirming your account. It usually takes between 24 to 48 hours to process.

Businesses must contact sales to post their events on the Patch.

Once you're logged in, here's how to post:



Click + event:


Give your event a title:


Is it a free event or a paid one?



A one-time event or ongoing?


Tell people where it is:



Upload a photo or an image:

The ideal image size is 1200 by 900 pixels (width by length).



Tell your local Patch all about your event:

Feel free to drag and drop the event flyer into the body of the post.


Click 'Post Now' and check it out on Patch.


Do not forget to share your event on Facebook and Twitter. Sharing your content on social media is a great way to spread the word and get free publicity for your event.


Promote your event.

For a $20 fee (per Patch), you can promote your event. It will be highlighted for 7 days before the event occurs and prominently featured on the site.

Click the orange box at the bottom of the screen.

Enter in your payment information and you are all set.
