4 IronBirds to New York-Penn All Star Game

The game will be held in Connecticut next week.

Four Aberdeen IronBirds players are headed to the New York-Penn League All-Star Game later this month.

Infielder Trey Mancini, catcher Austin Wynns and Mike Yastrzemski will start the game on Aug. 13 at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT. Right-hander Jimmy Yacabonis will be in the American League bullpen.

Mancini, the starting first baseman for the American League squad, has a .327 batting average, good for fifth-best in the New York-Penn League, with one home run and 24 RBI. Last week, Mancini had a part in the franchise's first triple play.

Yastrzemski is the Orioles' minor league offensive player of the month for July. He has the seventh-highest batting average in the league at .321, with two home runs and 12 RBI. He leads the IronBirds in on-base and slugging percentages.

Wynns has caught most IronBirds games, throwing out 11 of 54 base-stealers this season. At the plate, he's hitting .270 with nine RBI.

Yacabonis owns a 0.43 ERA in 21 innings out of the Aberdeen bullpen. He's notched a 2-0 record with three saves.

All players are in their first professional seasons.
