Aberdeen Blaze Took 2 Hours To Control: Fire Marshal

The fire marshal is investigating a vacant house fire in Aberdeen that caused structural damage.

ABERDEEN, MD — Authorities said crews battled a fire Saturday night at a vacant home in Aberdeen. A passerby reported the house fire in the 1500 block of Union Road at 11:35 p.m. on Saturday, according to the fire marshal.

The wood-framed house was uninhabited and was owned by a man who previously passed away.

About 25 firefighters from the Aberdeen Fire Department controlled the blaze in two hours, according to authorities.

There was $10,000 in structural damage to the single-story home as a result of the fire, investigators said.
