Black Youth in Action to host 2017 Debutante Ball Nov. 18
Black Youth in Action, non-profit organization
Black Youth in Action of Harford and Cecil Counties will host the 39th annual Debutante Ball Nov. 18 at Martin's East at 6 p.m. Tickets are $65.00.
The event presents high school juniors and seniors into society. These young people are supported by community, businesses and other organizations. The debutantes participate in workshops dealing with sisterhood, self-esteem, health & physical fitness. They had volunteer opportunites and a college tour. These sponsored activities help prepare them with the knowledge and the confidence to take part in leadership roles in today's society.
Debutante participants also receive a college stipend.

Black Youth in Action was organized in the spring of 1972 by Mazie Taylor, a Harford County public school teacher, to support black youth in the community. The organization instills cultural heritage and a spirit of unity and love for God, family and community. The organization sponsors several other events during the year.
