Harford Schools Announce Weather Delay

Harford County Public Schools will open two hours late on Thursday, Jan. 22.

Morning prekindergarten is cancelled.

Harford Day School will also open on a two-hour delay.

The National Weather Service said Thursday morning that ”icy spots are expected,” especially on bridges, overpasses, roads and sidewalks that were wet from Wednesday’s snow then hit with below-freezing temperatures overnight.

The Maryland Transportation Authority advised Thursday morning that there was the potential for some icy spots on roads, where what looks wet may be ice. The authority said drivers should give themselves extra time on their morning commute.

Transportation officials advise increasing following distance, reducing speed and keeping headlights on for safety.
