Harford Schools Cancel Field Trips to Baltimore City

Authorities with Harford County Public Schools decided to cancel all field trips to Baltimore City as unrest continues in Baltimore following riots Monday.

“Due to current conditions in Baltimore City, all field trips to the city are cancelled through May 1, 2015,” the school system said in a statement.

Also, school buses would not provide transportation into Baltimore City on Tuesday, April 28, according to the statement.

Baltimore City Public Schools were closed Tuesday as were Catholic schools in Baltimore. Hundreds of National Guard members were deployed to help restore order in the city, and a citywide curfew was issued.
