Norman Gossman, Founder of Carsins Run Store, Dies at 84

On April 21, Norman W. Gossman, 84, of Bel Air, passed away. He was the beloved husband of the late Gladys Gossman; devoted father of Stephen S. Sr., Keith S. and Melinda M. Gossman; loving grandfather of Stephen Jr., Gregory T., Anthony and Allie; great grandfather of Joseph; dear brother of Joan Ferracci and Ed and Bill Gossman.

Norman proudly enlisted and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. After the Corps, he began a more than 60-year career in the grocery industry. He worked for A&P Food Stores for 25 years. He then fulfilled a dream and bought his own store, Carsins Run Store in Aberdeen. After 33 years, the Gossman family still runs the business. Norman’s true devotion was to his wife and family.

Family and friends will honor Norman’s life at the family owned Evans Funeral Chapel & Cremation Services - Bel Air at 3 Newport Dr. (Routes 23 and 24 in Forest Hill) on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where a funeral service will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 28, at 11 a.m.

Interment will be at Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
