With yet another snow day in the books for schools across Maryland, parents had to get creative to keep their kiddos entertained at home.
We asked Patch readers on Facebook for their snow day survival tips. Here are the top answers:

- Go outside and play in the snow
- Play with LEGOs—always a favorite!
- One creative mom shared: “A 7am trip to Redbox, munchkins from Dunkin Donuts, and a giant pack of AA batteries to test out all the unopened Christmas toys.”
- Watch reruns on the DVR
- Put the kids to work outside to help shovel snow
- Make fun food art out of healthy snacks
- Cook some creamed chipped beef, while treating the kids to junk food
- Crank up good music and dance around the house
And one not so kid-friendly idea:
- Beer!
