2021 MD Spring Outlook: 2 Weather Forecasts Offer Prediction
The Farmers' Almanac and Accuweather spring forecasts are out, giving MD residents a peek at when it will start warming up.
MARYLAND — As temperatures ricochet between winter chill and spring warmth, Marylanders are ready to put away heavy coats and boots. We'll just be switching thermals for umbrellas, if the Farmers' Almanac forecast is to be believed.
The spring equinox officially arrives in two weeks, at 5:37 a.m. Saturday, March 20.
In Maryland, the almanac suggests we can expect wet and mild weather to come with it. Plenty of thunderstorms are likely across eastern states in late April, which could spur tornadoes in a few cases.

Toward the end of May, an early spell of heat could cover much of the eastern U.S., the almanac said.
The overall spring weather pattern across the country will be influenced by La Niña before weakening in early summer, according to AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Meteorologist Paul Pastelok. The La Niña effects could create an active severe weather season.

The Accuweather spring forecast said winter may carry over into late March and April with a last round of winter storms.
Here's the Maryland forecast for the coming week, according to the National Weather Service:
Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 25. Northwest wind 5 to 7 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 43. Northwest wind 3 to 8 mph.
Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 26. Light north wind.
Monday: Sunny, with a high near 48. Calm wind becoming west around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Monday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 37. Light southwest wind.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.
Tuesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 42.
Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 64.
Wednesday night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 48.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.
Thursday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51.
Friday: A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Friday night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43.
Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 55.
