The Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook Wednesday morning:
"Good morning. We had a busy night late last night with a homicide case. A young man has died. We will put out the details of the case later this morning as we finish gathering information. Sadly, in our line of work, we are often reminded of how quickly tragic things can happen. It’s very tough to respond to these types of calls and then have to tell a family member something terrible has happened knowing the notification will change their lives forever. Whether it’s an intentional act of violence, a car crash, a sudden death or something else, this is one of the hardest things we deal with. It’s why I always write about the value of each and every day that has been given to us and the importance of striving to be the best we can be at all times. Because nothing is promised. Folks, please keep this family in your prayers and we will give you more info. as soon as we can. Safe travels today and know we are here for you."
Detectives are working on leads and establishing a motive. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Shankster at (301) 609-6513. A cash reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
