MD Woman Brought Drugs Into Jail For Fiancé: DA
A Maryland woman is accused of sneaking suboxone into a Pennsylvania county prison for her inmate fiancé.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA — A Maryland woman is facing felony contraband charges after alleged sneaking drugs into Delaware County's George W. Hill Correctional Facility in mid-August for her fiancé, authorities said.
Delaware County District Attorney Katayoun M. Copeland said Wednesday that Rebecca Anne MacBryghde, 40, of Cumberland, is facing felony contraband charges for sneaking suboxone into the prison on August 16, to deliver her fiancé who is an inmate.
MacBryghde is charged with contraband, a felony of the second degree, and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, an ungraded felony, the DA's office said.

The investigation was conducted by Detective Brian Patterson and Sergeant Jack Kelly of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and investigators and correctional officers with the George W. Hill Correctional Facility.
At 7:33 p.m. on August 16, MacBryghde entered the prison to visit her inmate fiancé, the DA's office said.

A correctional officer conducted a mandatory visitor search of MacBryghde, at which time a suboxone strip, a Schedule III controlled substance, fell from her bra, the DA's office said.
In response to the report of contraband in the prison, CID Sergeant Jack Kelly and Detective Brian Patterson responded to the George W. Hill Correctional Facility to conduct an investigation, authorities said.
Prison K-9 officers conducted a search of MacBryghde’s 2018 Silver Kia Soul that she had used to drive to the prison, which turned up numerous items, including a black cylinder container with marijuana in it, two pipes, a marijuana grinder, numerous assorted empty zip-lock plastic bags, several used needles, and a metal spoon, according to the DA's office.
"Bringing drugs into a correctional facility is extremely dangerous and puts the safety of corrections officers, staff, inmates and community members at risk," Copeland said. "Those who attempt to sneak drugs into prison will be arrested and prosecuted for this felony offense. I would like to commend the correctional officers at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility and CID Detective Brian Patterson and Sergeant Jack Kelly for their investigative efforts that led to the arrest in this case."
MacBryghde was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Diane M. Holefelder who set bail at ten percent of $75,000, which she failed to post, according to the DA's office.
Her preliminary hearing date is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 30, authorities said.
