$11M Addition, Cafeteria Expansion Planned For Arundel MS

The AACPS board of education will vote on the final design of an $11 million addition and cafeteria expansion at Arundel Middle School.

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — The Anne Arundel County Public School's board of education will meet Jan. 8 and vote on the final design of an $11 million addition and cafeteria expansion at Arundel Middle School in Odenton. The project is part of superintendent George Arlotto's fiscal year 2021 capital budget recommendation. The addition calls for 11 classrooms to be constructed.

At the meeting, the board also will receive an update from county officials as far as the FY2021 revenue outlook, which begins July 1. Two public hearings and a public workshop will be held before adopting a request to send to Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman Feb. 19.

The meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the board room at the Parham Building, 2644 Riva Road, Annapolis. Board members will enter into closed session almost immediately, then will resume the public session of the meeting at 10 a.m.

Members of the public wanting to testify before the board can now sign up online or by phone at 410-222-5311. Signups now will open on the Friday before a board meeting when the agenda for that meeting is published and will close at 4 p.m. on the day before the meeting.
