ANNAPOLIS, MD — Celebrate Maryland Hall's 40th birthday with an afternoon full of arts and entertainment March 22 from 1-4 p.m. The United States Naval Academy Band will perform at 4 p.m., capping off the day with a community concert.

Maryland Hall’s ArtFest Open House will offer patrons art demonstrations, music recitals, dance performances, exhibitions, hands-on activities and children’s crafts. Highlights this year include an opportunity to meet Paul Reed Smith, world renowned guitar maker and musician, who will be in attendance to talk with guests about his 2nd Annual Interactive Music Camp for Aspiring Musicians planned for this August at Maryland Hall. There also will be birthday treats, face painting and balloon animal art.

The free open house typically draws more than 1,000 people to its ArtFest, which is part of Four Rivers Heritage Area’s Maryland Day Celebration activities and also includes free tastings from the Café at Maryland Hall. There also will be food trucks on site, pottery and glass fusing, a digital photo booth, Irish dance, a Ballet Theater of Maryland showcase and art exhibits.
